Hey world!! Been awhile since I posted last. Bout time too. Lots of stuff as happened since I last wrote anything, and most, if not all, the important stuff happened over the last 5 weeks.
Nothing before July was exciting. It was just me being a lazy ass and kinda sorta looking for a job, and doing a picture here and there.
So about mid July, one of my best friends, ~
jlynnt, got a job up here in Portland. In fact, it was rather sudden, for my family at least, because my sister, ~
empryss was getting married in about a month from that time. Originally we were going to have jlynnt stay with my family until we or she could get a place (too soon just before the wedding you know). BUT, we somehow found this place in the location where we wanted to be in town, and it's veeery close to where some of my other friends live, and it's easy access to jlynnt's work via the bus. Seriously, who wants to park downtown? Nightmare~! We are both very happy with our apartment, and
I DON'T HAVE TO LIVE AT HOME!! Oddly enough, it worked out that I moved out so soon before the wedding cus that meant 5 people weren't going to be using one bathroom.
So three weeks before the wedding I planned my sister's bachelorette party. It was planned with much needed help from a couple of her friends. Let's face it, I don't know what there is to do that is fun in Seattle (empryss lives near there) much less for a bachelorette party. It was my first time planning for a party for normal who drink and party. I don't drink very often and I hardly ever go to bars. I'm a nerd. What can I say? I enjoy playing video or board games with friends. Makes me wonder what my sister is going to do for my bachelorette party when the time comes. Anyways, we went to Rock Box which is Japanese style karaoke, where we have a group of people in one room and sing to our hearts content. Then we went dancing at The Ballroom. Saw my sister hammered for the first time in my life. It was hilarious!
Three weeks after the bachelorette party empryss and her fiance are finally married!!!! Congrats, sis! You picked a good choice. <3 The wedding site was beautiful. It was at a vineyard an the buildings had this European touch which is perfect for them, since she and I are half Dutch, and he is British. The colors where blue and white with about 120 people. I was, of course, the maid of honor, with three other bride's maids, and my cousin as the matron of honor. According to everyone who came it was the best wedding they've been to. Even the venue thought it was amazing because they never had a wedding like ours. It was super nice. Nothing went wrong. Everything, as far as I know was flawless. The ceremony was beautiful which was done by my Mom's best friend, who became a reverend specifically for this wedding. I almost cried, but managed not to. My sister was beautiful. Her dress was beautiful. I post a picture us together when I can obtain a copy of the pictures taken. The groom was handsome too,

There was a lot of dancing once the we had eaten dinner and cake. Just when I was about to leave the dance floor for either a break or some water somebody would drag me right back in, usually before I could take a break or get water. I even did a little speech to the bride and groom. Written that day with help from my aunt, but I still made it my own and almost got my brother-in-law to cry. It was a wondrous night! So happy to have a brother-in-law in our family. So again, congrats to both my sister and her husband. I wish both of you happiness for the rest of your lives together! <3<3
And now the soul reason why I have not updated this journal since spring. The reason being that I was sorta depressed about not getting a job. I didn't want to update this journal until I had one so I can tell you guys my life is moving forward. Did decide during the week before the wedding that I was going to write a journal entry after said wedding regardless, but things have changed for me since then. So the week before the wedding I get in with a couple interviews for this restaurant. The day of the wedding I get a call, about an hour before we leave for the wedding site saying that they want to hire me.
That's right folks,
I AM EMPLOYED!!!!! After over a year of nothing. I am now a Hostess. Yeah, it's not the best money making job in the world, but it's a job and it's customer service experience, which is what I have been looking for. Slowly learning all the tricks of the trade. Just went through my first week training. This job definitely takes me out of my comfort zone, but I consider it to be a good thing. I need to toughen up and gain people skills. Being who I am, this week just has been a fluster week, but I'm getting better with each day I work. I'm am just a giant work in progress.
