Heeeello!

It's a new year and time for another journal entry. Yes, I'm alive an well. Lots of changes last year.

My boyfriend and I moved in together in October and we've never been happier. Our apartment is still a mess because I couldn't move around very much in a boot cast to unpack things. Safe to say that gave me mild depression, because when you want to move around and you can't it definitely affects your mood. But it's slowly coming together.

We rescued a stray that was found around our apartment complex. Sadly we aren't going to keep him as we really don't have time for a cat. My county has made him extremely difficult to find a shelter (nearly all shelters in Oregon, at least near the city I live in are no kill shelters) because the only county shelter only accepts dogs. *sigh* All the other cat shelters are very picky about what cats they can take. Craiglist also takes forever. Soooo the process of finding him a new home is taking a lot longer than me and my boyfriend expected. Luckily, Harley is a suuuuper chill old man cat.

As for art. I haven't been doing much. I've been mostly helping my boyfriend with his youtube video thumbnails and that's been the closest to digital art for me these days. HOWEVER, I have found a new passsion; acrylic paints. I've never been much of person for traditional media, but my mom took me to Paint Nite, which is basically a super beginner class for painting. We have a picture in front of us and we have to paint. The instructor goes step by step on how to paint this picture. It was super fun and I learned a lot. It's to the point where I got acrylic paints for christmas so I can start making my own art. I already have a few things in mind that I want to try and paint, but I'm not ready as I don't have brushes, an easel, or a kitchen table for that matter. But it's coming and reeeally can't wait to explore this new medium.

I'm definitely not ready to give up digital media, but I need a change of pace that will ignite my passion for art again.
